If you’re planning a civic ceremony, I bet the first thing that comes up is San Francisco City Hall. It is undeniable — it’s grand, iconic and beautiful. If that is your vision, I by no means am talking you out of it — it’s an excellent choice. But if you’re not 100% committed to it, read on.
Consider a Marin County Civic Center wedding in San Rafael. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the building is gorgeous. Its sweeping futuristic curves, open walkways, and soft indoor light create a striking, modern backdrop — perfect for intimate elopements and small ceremonies.
Why do I love Marin County Civic Center?
— Relaxed experience: Fewer crowds mean privacy, easy pacing, and space to be present with each other. No guarantees, but you might not even come across another couple. You will certainly not feel like you’re competing for space or photographs.
— Striking architecture: Clean lines, airy galleries, and playful geometry photograph beautifully. I love authentic candid photos and guided poses that feel like you, but I also like variety and mixing up artistic styles. Here’s also an opportunity to create something special and a little different.
— Outdoor photos nearby: Step outside to oak trees, paths, and benches for a second look without leaving the property. It’s right outside the building on the top floor. If time allows, a brief first dance in the garden can be a sweet touch (just don’t forget a bluetooth speaker… or else, ask your photographer to hum your favorite tune).
